Kamareddy: State Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy on Monday distributed milch animals and subsidised sheep at Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kamareddy and also released three lakh fish seedlings at Adloor Yellareddy and Tekriyal tanks.
Srinivas Yadav said the distribution of the animals and release of fish seedlings were part of the State government’s plans to economically strengthen various traditional livelihoods and farmers in the State. The government would also construct a fish market in 30 acres at Bhiknoor of Kamareddy district, he added.
So far, 70 lakh sheep have been distributed and this scheme is now being followed up with one to distribute milch animals with an aim to develop dairy industry in the State, he added.
Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said Telangana government had provided life insurance scheme to the 30 lakhs farmers and paid Rs 636 cores in premium and till now 246 families of farmers have been paid five lakhs rupees each as life insurance under the Rythu Bhima scheme. The government was also giving Rs 4,000 per acre per crop to farmers as input assistance under the Rythu Bandhu scheme benefitting 58 lakh farmers.
Among those who attended the programme were TRS party whip Gampa Goverdhan, Jukkal MLA Hanumanthu Shinde, ZP Chairman D Raju, Kamareddy Municipal Chairperson Pippiri Sushma, DCMS Chairman Pippiri Sushma, Animal Husbandry Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania and District Collector Dr N Satyanarayana.
