The Food Processing Incubation-cum-Training Centre, established by the Department of Agricultural Marketing and Agribusiness at Anbil Dharmalingam Agricultural College and Research Institute at Navalur Kuttappattu, will impart skill-based entrepreneurship development training in food processing.
It will offer training on preparation of value-added products from fruits (ready-to-serve beverages, squash, cordial, jam, jelly and fruit bar), vegetables (dehydrated vegetables, minimal processing and pickles), cereals and millet based processing (ready-to-cook products and convenience foods), bakery products and masala powder and products.
Programmes will also be conducted based on the request from any group or organization in specialized areas of food processing. For one day training, a sum of Rs. 500 will be charged as fee per person. The centre will also extend incubation facility to farmers and entrepreneurs for value-addition activities under nominal charges, P. Pandiyarajan, Dean (in-charge) of the institute, said
